The Pompidou Group awards the European Drug Prevention Prize every two years with the objective of highlighting excellent drug prevention projects that have proved successful in practice and that fully involve young people. It aims to encourage the development of drug prevention work in which young people are actively participating. The Pompidou Group believes that the genuine involvement of young people improves the possibilities of successful drug prevention.
In each two-year cycle, up to three Projects will be awarded a Prize which consists of a Trophy, a Diploma and €5.000 to develop their work. Prize-winners are high-quality drug prevention projects that fully involve young people (aged under 25). Young people are supposed to be involved in the development and implementation of activities, in project decisions, in project management and perhaps in project evaluation. Innovative projects are sought and they should be currently running or recently finished. Take into account that this is a prize to award work done and not a grant.
Projects from all 47 Council of Europe member States as well as other member States of the Pompidou Group are eligible to apply and the applications should reach the Pompidou Group Secretariat by email until the 30th of November 2020.
