Dearest SCORPions,
I hope you are taking care of both your physical and mental health! 🙂
As the pandemic is threatening us all—our families, our friends, and our local communities— supporting the well-being of the forcibly displaced becomes far more challenging for governments, for NGOs, and international organizations. After several consultations and online meetings to exchange ideas and experiences with many of our external partners, I have gathered a series of reading materials and related webinars for members to gain insights on how COVID-19 impact Migration, hoping that this sharing may bring you some inspirations to raise awareness of this important challenge our global society is facing under this emergency, and substantially support you with resources to work on the ground to support young migrants.

**IOM is also requesting civil society groups at country levels to reach out to their country offices for collaboration; therefore, if any NMO is interested or have a plan to propose, please feel free to reach out to me and I’d love to connect you with the IOM country offices! - UNICEF – Quick tips on COVID & children on the move (in attachments)

- Background information: Against the growing politicization and polarization of the discourses on migration, negative narratives on migration seem to be multiplying around us. How can NGOs engage actively to counter such trends without reinforcing existing negative perceptions? Can positive messages and calls for the support of migrants be shared more effectively? What should we be particularly aware of when advocating for the protection of migrants in the midst of the current COVID-19 pandemic crisis?
- Date and Time: Wednesday 22 April, 2pm GMT
- Register [here] before 21 April!
I hope you find all the reading materials and webinar opportunities mentioned above useful and interesting. I understand it is a difficult time for all of us and I sincerely hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy. Please feel free to approach me at any time for any questions!
Warmest regards,
Tammy
