I hope that you are doing well.
As has been the tradition for the past years, IFMSA publishes its official magazine – Medical Students International (MSI), this email serves as a call for MSI Team including content editors and designers for the 42nd Edition. Please do not forget to check our last issue (here).
1 – Content Editors:
Content Editors are people who will be responsible for reviewing articles to ensure that they meet the high standards we expect from an IFMSA publication. They will mostly be analyzing the articles’ semantics, ranging from its grammar, punctuation, spelling, all the way to ensuring the consistency of its quality. We will be calling for 4 content editors this time.
– Application Process:
– Motivation Letter: must be no more than one page.
– Curriculum Vitae: must highlight relevant experiences within and/or outside IFMSA on the job description stated above.
– Submission: to vpprc@ifmsa.org in .pdf format before the deadline. No late submissions will be considered.
– Subject Line: [MSI 42 EDIT] in front of your subject line, followed by your full name and NMO.
– Qualifications: All members are encouraged to apply, however, priority will be given to those who are able to provide proof of excellent linguistic proficiency, either in the form of a C2, IELTS (above 8.0), TOEFL certification (above 100, in iBT or above 600 in PBT), or any other form of linguistic evaluation results/proof that shows your competence in the language.
2 – Content Designers:
Content Designers are people who will be responsible for designing the layout of the MSI 42. With the InDesign program, you will be in charge of designing the proofread articles and compiling it to the final document that we will send to print and publish online. We will be calling for 4 Content Designers at this moment.
– Application Process:
– Motivation Letter: must be no more than one page, including your motivation in applying and your past experience in using the InDesign letter.
– Curriculum Vitae: must highlight relevant experiences within and/or outside IFMSA on the job description stated above.
– Sample Design: To show a sample past work that you created with the Adobe InDesign or any other DTP program in PDF.
– Submission: to vpprc@ifmsa.org in .pdf and .indd format (if possible) before the deadline. No late submissions will be considered.
– Subject Line: [MSI 42 DES] in front of your subject line, followed by your full name and NMO.
– Qualifications Required: any member with InDesign of DTP (Desktop Publishing Tool) experience is encouraged to apply. We will most likely be working based on a template from previous MSIs, but experience and a stronger portfolio will most likely positively affect the chances of being chosen as a content designer.
