Move for Mental Health: Let’s invest.

Dear IFMSA-Family,

I hope this email finds you well and in great health!
It gives me absolute pleasure to share with you the upcoming World Mental Health Day Campaign by The World Health Organization (WHO), the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) and United for Global Mental Health, who have joined forces to launch the official World Mental Health Day 2020 campaign set for the 10th of October, 2020 and with the theme Move for mental health: Let’s invest.

We want to rally as many people as possible to participate in the global campaign, calling on everyone, everywhere to #MoveForMentalHealth!

You can join the official dance to be released on TikTok, or any other movement you would like to do and share online – or offline, within social distancing regulations.

IFMSA’s partner United for Global Mental Health is also leading the global campaign in a virtual March for Mental Health, to stand up and be counted; showing world leaders the surge of support for greater investment in mental health on October 10th – World Mental Health Day. This march will virtually travel around the world on October 9th in the lead up to the day on the 10th, and we would love to invite young people everywhere to join – and stand up and be counted!

How can you get involved?

  1. MARCH – Join the world’s first ever 24-hour virtual march for mental health on 9th October. Participate in the call to action to ‘stand up and be counted’ as bespoke filters put you in the heart of the virtual action, and use the hashtag #MoveForMentalHealth
  2. MOVE – Let your dance moves do the talking. Film yourself doing the official Tik Tok WMHD dance and share using the hashtag #MoveForMentalHealth
  3. WATCH – the virtual march as it moves across the globe with 24 hours of online content. Featuring videos and speakers from 19 countries, plus 5 special themed hours which includes a dedicated hour to YOUTH! (more details and assets to follow)
  4. SHARE – encourage your NMO members to join the March!
